What this world, our country and this community needs more of is leaders. Leaders like you. I want to talk to you about leadership, tribes, real estate and you.
Leadership
Seriously, as a real estate agents you are in a leadership role each and every day. You lead people to figure out home ownership or whether to buy or whether to sell and if so for how much and, well, the list goes on and on. Real estate agents sit in peoples’ kitchens and learn their hopes, dreams, challenges and motivations. The very act of building a successful real estate business means developing your real estate potential. Heck, it’s even in our ALC Clinic manuals! What do you think got me to start reading John Maxwell’s 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership in the first place?
Tribes
Seth Godin wrote a book titled Tribes. It is a simple read. But deep. Very deep. It takes the idea of niches to a whole new level. Essentially, there are people out there, a tribe if you will, that want a leader. They NEED a leader. Any volunteers? There are people that will only be happy with the service and care YOU can give them. Let them know you exist! Write a blog. Make a video. Create a farm. Network your a$$ off. Let them know you are leader looking for a tribe and the tribe, also looking for a leader, will find you. I promise.
Real Estate
There is a line in the movie of Devil’s Advocate where Kevin Lomax (Keanu Reeves) asks John Milton (Al Pacino) “Why the law?” And Milton responds, “Law is the ultimate backstage pass. There are now more students in law schools than lawyers walking the streets.” Doesn’t that sound like real estate and real estate agents? Seems like everyone has a cousin who is a REALTOR. And we KNOW that everyone uses real estate every day. Heck, even the homeless take up real estate when they walk, eat and sleep. Real estate touches everything. You can literally have your hands in everyone’s life!
You
You have everything it takes to be a successful real estate agent. You have (or, at least had) a dream. You have ability…or you wouldn’t have passed the test. You’ve had success in your past. You have the time, should you choose so. For those of you that are Keller Williams Realty agents I KNOW you have all the training and coaching you could possibly need. You can/will develop your leadership. You can/will develop your tribe. You can/will develop a successful real estate business.
Keep developing your leadership, your tribe and your real estate business each and every day. Do something every work day of the year. And then enjoy the view.
I enjoyed reading your simple and to the point of “Leadership, Tribes, Real Estate, and You”. I will read those (2) books mentioned. I can only respond from my heart, because my life is driven by what moves people within. Our spirit will always be waiting for us to have that leap of faith. My job is to hold the hand of those who do in real estate. It is serious, but it is a career. It is difficult lead, but we need to allow ourselves to want to lead ourselves. I have more experience in leading charitable events, schools, and guiding our youth. It is funny that when serious moments or events are happening, we all turn into a fragile being. Which, honestly, is what our faith desires. If we all take a moment and say “You are capable of unlimited possibilities”, maybe we would all be more successful? We just need a support.
I appreciate all the support you give us all at Keller Williams Diamond Partners, Inc. And, giving me a chance to prove to myself, that I have potential.
God bless you and your family.
Thank you Chris Lengquist! Such an empowering read!!
Thanks and regards.
