The biggest advice I can give any real estate agent is to never stop learning. As a real estate agent the initial training you get will get you started. But ask any successful real estate agent how they have survived over the years (decades?) and they will tell you that they have continually trained, learned, and adapted.
Learning can mean many things. Many times it means that you are sitting in a training room listening to a professional trainer or teacher give you insight and lessons they’ve learned over the years. Online real estate training has become more and more prevalent as the years have rolled by. However, I still feel online classes miss much of the interaction that can be so beneficial between agents. Experience is very much a teacher, as well.
Right now I’m learning. I’m running a facebook ad designed to attract real estate agents to our market center here in Olathe, KS. After one week’s trial I decided I could have better results. So I left that baseline ad and did another one to run in an alternating pattern. Which advertisement will generate better results and thus increase the ROI that makes the ad worth it? Well, I’ll learn this in the next 30 days, right?
Everyday I like to ask questions of our successful and new agents. Everyday I like to watch at least one short video on real estate or leadership or on people skills. Everyday I like to read at least one chapter of some book that will allow me to develop and grow my God-given abilities.
Never stop learning.
