When was the last time you stopped to think about what you do? The profession of real estate sales is a noble one. You help people find a home they can raise their families in. A place for them to feel safe. A place to dream. A place of rest. Further, you help them fund their retirement by paying their loans down over time or building a rental portfolio.
To do this you find yourselves trying to be the best salesperson/consultant you can be. So you read and attend seminars and watch videos. All the while you think “This will help me with real estate!”
But did you know you are also changing and affecting lives on a daily basis? You think you read that book to be able to work with sellers better. In addition, however, you are now more equipped to raise teenagers, to help that young married couple at church and to have compassion when things are not well with a friend. You, more than most of your friends, have learned to listen and discern and provide direction. Because these are the things that make you a successful real estate agent. And they are the same things that make you a better father or mother, friend or confidant, husband or wife.
What you do matters. Stop. Look around. Listen. And then smile. Because you do matter. You do make a difference.
