I was watching show on Hulu called Faraway Downs with Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman. It’s quite different. Anywho, the Hugh Jackman character, Drover, said “Most people like to own things, you know, land, luggage and other people. Makes them feel secure. But all that can be taken away. And in the end, the only thing you really own is, uh, is your story. Just trying to live a good one. “
Wow.
What story are you living? Are you anxious to share it with your spouse, your kids, your grandkids? Does it stand out? Are you proud of your story?
Knowing that we cannot change our story to date, what will you change about your story moving forward?
Blogging. Journaling. YouTube. Social media. Hanging out with friends. It seems to me these are ways each of us are looking to convey our story, to practice telling our story. In the end our story will be all that’s left. For instance, when I remember my mom, it’s the stories. When I tell stories of Emma, it almost feels as if she is still with us.
What story are you living and who will tell it after you are gone?
