Understanding the importance of Keywords is paramount to your success in using WordPress sites as a real estate agent. It is important to think about what keywords you are going to consciously use when titling and writing your blogs.
TIP: Use specific keywords in the title and then duplicate those words in the first and last sentence of each post as much as possible.
TIP: Highlight, Bold or Italicize keywords and keyword phrases within your posts to make those words stand out.
Be a specific as possible when writing and don’t be afraid to drill down in to very specific niches. This may sound counter-intuitive because you want as much traffic as you can to your websites, right? Well, yes. But you what you really want is the RIGHT TRAFFIC to visit your website.
For instance, Kansas City Real Estate For Sale may be a great keyword phrase and generate lots of traffic to your website. But is it the right traffic if you are a real estate agent trying to build a business in Lenexa, Kansas? If traffic is all you want, why not use the keyword phrase Sex and Kansas City Real Estate? I guarantee you will drive tons of traffic to your website. But will it be the right kind of traffic for you to convert in to business, business that will feed your family?
Instead, given the example above, let’s use a keyword phrase like Lenexa Real Estate For Sale…or even better, Falcon Valley Homes For Sale. Sure, you’ll miss out on a lot more traffic. But the point is converting traffic to dollars. If someone is specifically looking for a home in Falcon Valley or around that golf course they will find your site, look around, see that you are the expert and contact you. I promise you this is better than trying to convert some lead for Kansas City and talking them in to driving from Lee’s Summit to see a home you have listed in Falcon Valley.
