Releasing Fall of 2026

In August 2010, Kansas City real estate agent Cal Brink buys a distressed property in Columbus Park for $29,000 and figures the hardest part will be the renovation. He figures wrong.
Behind a basement wall he finds a silver box containing a revolver, a photograph, and a cassette tape, evidence that connects him to a surveillance job he did in Washington, DC, twenty-two years earlier and to a murder he didn't commit but may have caused.
Within forty-eight hours someone has torn apart his house looking for what he found. By Monday, he has his family hidden away, driven 1,080 miles, and is walking back into a world he thought he had left behind.
The document that started all of it was the last one he signed at closing. He didn't read it.
